My name is Jay Dyer, I have been in the automotive business since the mid 1970s.
My first job in the automobile business was as a sales consultant in Knoxville, Tennessee.
I was promoted to the F&I department after 1 1/2 years, then to the pre owned manager 6 months later.
Within a year I was promoted to new car manager, then to the General Sales Manager’s position.
Five years later the dealership was sold. The owner bought a dealership in North Carolina which I had an investment in.
After the owner and I sold this dealership 5 years later, I felt it was time go out on my own and get in the training business.
I was a partner in Progressive Basics, Inc. from 1989 till 2005. We worked, training in pre owned processes, with over 30,000 dealerships, managers, owners and manufacturers in 23 different countries.
I have seen some of the best run dealerships/management and worked with my share of the not so well run dealerships/management.
I started Jay Dyer and Associates in 2005. I have worked with/for 15 manufacturers, their dealers and managers all over the world.
In November of 2014, after traveling an average of 3 to 5 days a week for over 20 years, I decided that it was time to stop traveling so I started working for the Lexus dealership in Raleigh, NC.
It has felt like going back to my roots since I haven’t been a salesperson on the showroom floor for over 25+ years.
Jay Dyer and Associates delivered results since we opened in 2005. My goal was to provide both a superior customer experience and tremendous value for our customers.
I have over 35 years of experience in the automobile industry and am passionate about the business.
